Agr-s

5 posts in this topic

I thought to start this topic having seen the very good topic in gr.net about the things we don't like in Raven Shield (I'm purposly not posting the link). I've posted my opinion that the topic should be started here but people agreed that this site had not so many member has its twin.

This is true but I believe we should help this site to grow up. Of course I love GR much more than Raven Shield (that I've never completed) but this is a wonderful site (together with 3dretreat).

What's your opinion?

PS: I started to post this topic in gr.net but don't say it to anyone

It's kinda like asking if the Rainbow Six series was better than GR. The two games differ other than they are both FPS based.

I got into R6 after getting GR, a long time after getting GR, in fact I think theres a report around here somewhere about it.

Anyway, I found R6 less a less forgiving, faster, more brutal FPS than GR, but I found also that it was more challenging than replaying GR maps agan and again, and I drifted away from GR.

Rvs was a big dissapointment, and probably positioned the lid, if not exactly nailing it shut on the R6/RS genre.

R6/RS will always have a loyal following, if somewhat smaller than other FPS', however the best isn't always the easiest

a bit of history :

agr-s started as a faq for the Alt.Games.Rainbow-Six newsgroup. ( in a galaxy far far away, in a not so distant past.....)

afther a wile it ended up being a fan site, and evolved more and more, til it became something like it's today.

gr.net on the other hand started out just as a fan site.

and i agree with T, rvs wasn't worth the mony and waiting time

If I was new to R6/GR series, and I was looking for information about the games, odds are I wouldn't type agr-s.com. Rainbowsix.net on the other hand could attract more visitors. There was such a site in the past.. Not sure if it still exists. And no, I'm not going to check it.
