This is a very robust and atmospheric map. Atmosphere is
a tricky thing to encode into a map. We are beginning to
see some beautiful and well designed maps for UO these days,
but sometimes they lack atmosphere - not the Bootcamp though.
Atmosphere come courtesy of interactivity, lighting and
texture, and Bootcamp has them all.
For some reason this map reminded me of playing Alien on
the Playstation when it was first released - that game broke
the atmosphere benchmark - just like Bootcamp has for Urban
Ops modding. A lot of this is due to the great, all new
textures - just check out those crates for example. The
lighting and colours also add to the effect as do the storage
barrels that react to being shot at.
The layout is superb, the possibilities are exciting for
team adversarial with plenty of crates and storage drums
to offer cover, and walkways for surprise attacks.
The multiplayer game has the map altered in three slightly
different ways to offer variation in gameplay - and it works,
we played this mod far longer than anticipated during the
play test.
All in all a tremendous mod - I can't wait to see the full
package that GravediGGa is putting together.
