Terms

Lurker - Someone who reads but rarely posts at the newsgroup
Camper - Someone who remains in the same spot for a major part or during the duration of the game, usually hated by most RS players.
Pistols Only - A game type where the players are only using pistols, often enforced by using the "Kit Restrictions" option.
No Crossing - Term used on the Bunkers map. When using the No Crossing rule the players are not allowed to move to the other side of the map. Whether or not the players can move to the area in front of their own bunkers varies from game to game.
Ping - The time, in milliseconds, it takes for the info from your PC to get sent to the host's PC and back. Never join games with pings over 300ms. Try to keep in around 100-150ms.
Lag - If the ping is too high you'll experience lag. Lag is when you e.g. press Space to open a door and it takes several seconds before the door actually opens. Much lag can seriously interfere with gameplay, as the opponent you just fired at may be in a completely different spot when the info(i.e. you pulling the trigger) reaches the host's PC, and thus the bullets will mow down a bunch of innocent air molecules, but leave the opponent unscathed.
