HOW TO BE A KICK ASS NEWBIE IN ROGUE SPEAR

General

You are lucky, for you have stumbled across the web's greatest newbie guide for RS. There are a few rules you need to know before joining your first Multiplayer Rogue Spear Game.

Never, ever, go to a website and read tactics. This totally ruins your game, by telling you how to play it. YOU MUST LEARN BY YOURSELF! Once you sharpen your newbie skills, you can read "tips" not tactics.

If you ever TK in a game, say that you didn't know. Its pretty obvious that you aren't supposed to shoot your own team, but this works wonders anyway. A lot of newbies like you use it.

That is about all you need to know for your pre-game knowledge. Now, start up the zone and pick a name (this is by your choice). Don't go into the co-op room, go straight to hostage rescue. Pick a room that has a red bar by it under the "latency" tab. NEVER choose one with green bars. This is so you can make the game slower so its harder for the enemy to hit you!

Once you get in the game, you may have to wait a while until the game is over. Then you eventually go to the inventory screen. If it is a team adversarial game, pick the team with the most players. This is so you can help your team out and you will have the advantage. Your in-game name is "John Doe". Do not change this name because if you kill a person with the name John Doe people will get mad and leave, thus making the other team smaller and yours at even a bigger advantage!

You must now choose your choice of weapon. My suggestion is that your choose a weapon that has "SD" (silenced) so you can be l33t and no one will hear you! Also, if you look at the chat area and see something like this:

Host: HEY GRN UP

The host means that he wants you to "green up" by pressing the red "stoplight" botton on the bottom left hand corner of the inventory screen. NEVER EVER PRESS THE RED BUTTON! Its a trick by the host to get your game to crash, because he doesn't want a l33t JOHN DOE in his game. If you do not press it, after a while a message will come up saying "you have been ejected by the server operator." This means that he has kicked you out of his room. Thus, you saved yourself from crashing and wasting his time, which is what all the newbies do.

If the host does not make you green up, you will see the game countdown beginning. Then the game will load. When you see "waiting for players" appear press the ' key a million times so that you will make the game go faster. The more times you make JOHN DOE: appear in the upper left hand corner of the screen, the slower the game will be so enemies will have trouble hitting you.

Soon, the game will start. Congratulations, you have just started your first multiplayer game of Rogue Spear. Look around quickly and see what uniform your team has on, if you see another person with a different uniform, shoot them. Do not get nervous, and just follow around your teammates who look like they know what they are doing. While you are following someone, pull out a Heartbeat Sensor Jammer. This tool is for making you invisible, so use it all the time. Walk around with this until you see an enemy, if he hasnt shot you yet, run away and choose your primary gun. Then crouch and stay there until your enemy comes back into sight. When you see your enemy Shoot him in the legs, so he will bleed more and you will get more points. Just like in Quake 3, use splash damage to your advantage. By now you have probably died, so press Page Up to view the other members of your team. (dead or alive) make sure to press ' and yell directions to the alive player so the other team will think you are really good at this game and respect you.

Once the game has ended, you will come to the stats page. On this page you see the number of frags (kills) you got during the round. If you look at the text box, you see people typing "gg". This means "gay goats" and this is slang for "damn newbie". So when you see people typing "gg" they are dissing you! In return to this say "screw you, you suck at this game" or something. This is only self defense. Nevertheless, you have a good chance of getting booted if you defend yourself when the host says this. Rogue Spear can be a cruel game.
For some reason, they will start to flame you back, but don't listen to what they say because they are all experts with no comebacks. And if you got whooped really, really badly say "DAMN ALL OF YOU CHEATERS, I HAD MY HEARTBEAT SENSOR JAMMER OUT!!! HOW DID YOU SEE ME" most likely, they will laugh at you and call you a dumbass. They might even say that the Heartbeat Sensor Jammer doesn't make you invisible. Don't listen to them because they haven't ever read this newbie guide so they don't know the l33t power of the Heartbeat Sensor Jammer.

When you are back at the inventory screen, remember to get a Heartbeat Sensor Jammer and a Skorpion. If you have ever played co-op you know that the Terrorists use skorpions and they are badass, so if you use one you've got to be badass too. This time, also choose flashbangs under your inventory 2 slot.

Go through the normal game loading sequence, but when the "waiting for players" message comes up press 4 so when the game starts you automatically start on flashbangs. When the game does start, throw a flashbang at short range to stun your teammates (and you). This is a great tactic because it stops the rushers on your team from rushing so you can have a better chance at killing someone.

After getting insulted through the chat on the upper-left hand portion of the screen, pull out your skorpion and rush ahead or your teammates. Now that you are badass with your badass skorpion your team will look up to you. Holding the skorpion in your hands, rush to the other team's insertion zone and light it up. If you go down, it will be in honor just like those badass terrorists.

By a stroke of luck, when you get to the statistics screen, you may find out that you have killed someone. Be sure to brag a lot and insult people, because they insult you when you die.

Sniping

Now that you are a master of Close Quarters Combat (cqc) we move onto sniping. In sniping, bring a Stand-Alone Heartbeat Sensor Jammer so you can place it on the ground and you can have a sniper rifle out and they still won't see you. Also bring a Ak-74 Instead of a sniper rifle so you can be more like the terrorists even when sniping.

You start the game the same way, but when the game starts you switch to your SA HBS Jammer and place it on the ground. Now you can go out into the open and have a prime sniping spot while those poor enemies of yours try to locate someone invisible. Try to stay in this spot the whole time, otherwise called camping. Camping is the best thing for newbies to do.

Aiming

Each gun in Rogue Spear aims differently. The Newbie's friend, the Skorpion, is a great gun but has horrible aim. The reticule (the little red circle) stays together the whole time while you shoot it, making it difficult to aim at one spot. However, the Ak-74 reticule gets really wide when you shoot it, so it isnt so hard to aim for the head, you can just aim for their belly and a bullet will go to the head.

Conratulations, you have just graduated from Wildguy's newbie academy. It all goes uphill from here, so good luck.
